With a record 16% of American consumers paying at least $1,000 a month for their cars, it's no surprise that drivers are starting to fall behind on their bills.

The percentage of borrowers at least 60 days late on their car payments is higher today than it was during the peak of the Great Recession in 2009.

There are multiple factors driving this trend. Car financing costs are climbing as the Federal Reserve continues its aggressive campaign of interest rate hikes to combat persistent inflation.

At the same time, used car values are dropping, leaving debtors at risk of owing more money than their cars are actually worth.

My take is,  when housing market takes a dive the stock market bubble will also get pricked.

I saw that report as well. Ok there is a silver lining to the dark cloud ..more people are eating in restaurants because it is cheaper than buying food in grocery stores!

How is that? We prepare 90%+ of home made. Same meal eating out would be twice as much, plus a tip, plus gas to drive.

Well..for example Subway sends out coupons, a foot long sub for $5.95.

It is very convenient to get lots of veggies, meat, cheese, nice bread and any sauce for $5.95+ tax, no tip required.

Very difficult to buy all those items for $5.95. Plus save all the work to preapre.

Ugh, we don't eat like that. We tend to eat real foods. Anything with more than three ingredients on the label is not real food. It's processed. We don't eat like most of the population. We never use seed oils (they are toxic). We stay away from sugar and wheat products also. Changed my eating habits at age 55 and moved away from SAD. (Std American Diet)

I admire your discipline in avoiding certain foods. I agree with your list except I just can't get enough of sesame oil for cooking. My father used to grow sesame crop and the oil made from that farm fresh product was a taste I will never forget. I am headed to Aldi as we speak, and will buy whats on sale LOL. My exercise routine 4 times every week is my security blanket to avoid diseases. So far so good, nearing age 83.

This is my old man's exercise video from 10 days back.

I just got back from Aldi. My Granddaughter worked there for a few years with plenty of hours and overtime.

Aldi's has their own less expensive brands of most foods, as does Costco and Sams club.

I usually go to all three plus Walmart almost every week to get my favorite items.

Often the off-brands are made by the big brand-name companies using up their oversupply capacity.

However since Covid that over-supply must be limited and some previous choices seem limited or non-existent.

Produce is usually 2nd tier at Aldi's and they seem to have cut way back on employees, as have the others.

I often visit around a bit and I am hearing customer complaints about prices, limited selection and still empty shelves.

So this is 1960's East Berlin.
