JUNE: Seasonality...Or Political Reality?

Mike Burk's Seasonality:

Last week of May:

"Average returns for the last week of May have been positive by all measures"  OOPS!

June Since 1963, over all years the OTC in June has been up 57% of the time with an average gain of 0.5%.  During the 3rd year of the Presidential Cycle June has been up 67% time with an average gain of 2.3%.  The worst June ever, 2002 (-9.4%), the best 2000 (+16.6%)

 

His June Chart shows the down into June 1st that we are seeing thus far today.

Plot a graph using data from !978-1982. That was the last high inflation period. 

Then you will have your answer.
