only grew 1.2% in the first half .To go into it further, many economists are only looking for !% growth in the second half or as low as .5. R squared (the coefficient of determination) value for stock prices to GDP is .83 which is a pretty good correlation (>.85 is excellent, so its close.) We are out over are skis on traditional metrics and after a tremendous run like this I'm not betting against this metric .You can add the typical valuation metrics and see they are already stretched Most economist are still looking for inflation to rise through the second half. Last but not least is the market's Co-dependency issues with AI, just can't survive without it. The first half was pretty easy, but I think the second half is going to be a little different. AAPL will open 8% higher tomorrow. This time the market will not correct like today.
There will be no real correction until the wars and trade wars are over and daFraud is posting.

Why do even need other companies in the indexes? I would just keep AI stocks. They are the future and the market would go up much faster.

As far as I know AI more than 10 years ago though not as advanced as it is now, when I saw my brother, a software engineer training a software that was able to automatically recognize many different types/shapes of forms and able to accurately capture data from the data fields on the forms.  But there were not much hypes then on it by the Street ...........................

Exactly just like the internet which was invented in 1969 and then more mainstream 1983 and then full on in 1995.  In my view were closer to the end where its just common and getting better like the internet is from dial up to mainstream..

Oh well you did get almost +3% but were for sure seeing at least -1% today.  Record set in 1998 was 78 if we stay down it will be done at 71
