i don't know if this link will work, but suspicions of the breakout are rising ! (okay, it did not work but it is from the promed email list which monitors the outbreak and has world cass epidimiolgists on board. you could google for it if you are interested. it looks like ground zero will be indonesia.)

Try this link instead

I don't think this is scary yet. It has to mutate and there is still no reason to suspect it has.

i think that s/b "epidemiologists" ... :) prechter had a good piece a while back on the appearances of pandemics and bear markets. since this is a very high degree bear market, it makes sense the pandemic will be worse than others. and, it is worth noting, that this flu is killing almost 60% whereas the terrible 1918 flu (you should read that book as well as "plagues and peoples" and "the coming plague" by yale biologist laurie garett) killed 5%. all populations of species CRASH ! after a parabolic rise, which is what has happened to home sapiens sapiens. the bird flu may be the big one that does it.

right ! the only problem is this: there cannot be a vaccine YET since the mutated (reassorted) virus has not appeared in its final form. he is talking about the bird flu which kills birds (and humans after direct contact with infected birds). he is not talking about the human-to-human strain which will be quite different and does not need to be transmited by birds.

But how do we trade it? I tell you one thing, avian flu is bad for birds. I don't have a position in tyson foods, Yum brands but if it hits bird in the US, I wouldn't want to be long those stocks. Remember: Pork, the other white meat. GD
