Are you annoyed by the food police? No one likes to be told what to eat. If we feel deprived and hungry we just get more stressed out and end up over eating. If you're an emotional eater ... try hypnotherapy ... it CAN work wonders.

The key, I believe, is to focus on FIRST giving your body what it needs: Good quality proteins and good quality fats. There are essential proteins and essential fats ... needed for survival. There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate ... however, there are still many delicious, low glycemic carbs that we can enjoy ... while also staying alive. :-)

Above all, enjoy life, cut yourself some slack ... be creative in finding healthy and satisfying foods.

Hiker mentioned Ezekial bread and I also love their tortillas. I put the tortillas in a dehydrating machine and they make great chips. I also love -

sundried tomatoes packed in olive oil ... great in wraps,
braggs aminos (instead of salt),
spicey tumeric,
avocados
big bags of frozen blueberries & strawberries (just defrost portions with boiling water, drain and enjoy)
high moisture, white, mozzarella cheese ... I buy it in big bricks at Cosco (Sams has it too)
raw almond or cashew butter ... not roasted
Ryvita whole grain crackers
Individually frozen salmon portions (Cosco even has wild salmon)
Kashi Go lean cereal ... when you need a sweet crunch ... delicious and high in protein
Quinoa - this is a great tasting carb ... and extremely nutritious
Wild game ... my friend hunts in Texas and there is nothing like fresh venison

WOULD LIKE TO HEAR WHAT NUTRITIOUS THINGS YOU ENJOY ... okay Rodger .... I know you're going to put triple fudge layer cake washed down with a few expresso ... but, that's not exactly what I mean!

 :P

Not exactly what you asked for, but I do a detoxification diet program every six months, in addition to diet considerations you consume organically engineered formulas... More info at www.metagenics.com They have a program with 2 different organic medical formulas you take, one is called "Ultra-Clear" - it is designed to clean up your liver. after 2 wks of Ultra Clear you go to "Sustain" another formula designed to clean your colon, stay on it for 2 wks as well, and then finally another 2 wks of Ultra Clear to clean your liver up again after it has processed the contents of your colon. These products are only available from health practictioners.

Really great stuff, it's like giving your digestive system a Dyno-tune....

Here's a green sauce I make with tomatillos...

take a pound or so of tomatillos, wash and remove paperlike skin. Cook in boiling water for only 15 min.

Chop up garlic, red onion, and jalapenos very fine, saute in Extra Virgin Olive oil til caramelized.

Add all ingredients to blender with desired amount of salt or in CC's case... Bragg's  .

Serve with your favorite mexican meal...

I'll save the carnitas recipe for another occasion...

It's exciting to see some people who are interested in this topic.

Money is great, but health is much more important. There is nothing, without health.

And so much suffering could be easily prevented ... by just stepping on the path to better eating.

Just begin ... begin anywhere ... because starting is really half finished.

I don't believe that any one book is 100% correct. Just like trading, it's a matter of sifting through a lot
of information and sorting out what you want to do. Experimenting, experimenting, experimenting ... then
designing your own unique approach. And fine tuning, as the years go by. You are never "there." Never done.

Here are some decent places to start - www.karenskitchen.com, or books:

Zone meals in minutes, (Dr. Barry Sears)
Back to the House of Health (Shelley Young)
Feed Your Need (C. Peachment)

Hiker, those run in my family, so to speak. My grandfather, my dad's dad, really always an Indiana farm boy at heart despite wildcatting for oil in Aruba in the 1930s (where my dad was born) raised greens for most of the last few decades of his life.

He and my grandma lived southwest of Indianapolis, and from roughly 1960 to 1988 he had a "route" in the big city. Word-of-mouth was how the business came in, and most late summer and fall days had him load up a pickup truck with 20 or 30 bushels and head into town. Collards, swiss chard, and turnip greens were most of it.

A tough old guy -- he was 85 when he stopped, working for hours on his knees in the fields cutting those greens. He ate a lot of greens, too. They must be good for you.

Best,

Doug

Tandoori chicken, mutton biryani, beef zalfarazi, spinach with paneer, dosa, spicy crab curry - sorry guys, you live only once. Spicy, delicious food comes before health and money. If you just chew green leaves every day, what would you look forward to for continuing with another day?? You do not only need price (longevity) but momemtum (something to look forward to) as well.
It is not the doing that is difficult, but the knowing

It's the illiquidity, stupid !
