From Philsgang.com
The "NEWS" we hear is what "THEY" want us to hear.
It is for public consumption.
What the charts show are just fact.

Phil says when the UTIL breaks below the 50dma, it means rates are rising and markets suffer.
Phil says when small US companies (Russell IWM) are begining to drop & break below 50dma it means that the US economy is in decline.

Just the facts mam, just the facts.

Interesting remark on SMA50, Roger. I took the RSI5 model and applied a filter to only use the buy at RSI5<30 IF the price close > SMA50. It improved the odds of a winning trade by another 10% or so. The winning % for RSI5<30 buy is 67.52%, but using an additional filter of buy only when above SMA50 makes it 73.33%. However, the total profit comes down a bit, because some trades where RSI5 < 30 AND price close < SMA50 do turn out to be winning trades. This works even better for Qs.. It goes from 72% wins to 85%. But again, the profits go down because many missed opportunities in those RSI5 < 30 when they do win out. Some distracting thoughts on your thread

I remember the guy selling his oil service positions at the top with me. So he got my attention there. And now I completely agree with him on UTIL and RUT analysis.
