I wasn't able to find a 'trading day calculator' either. However, I believe it would be a fairly simple task to do such calculations in an Excel spreadsheet. What you would need no matter WHAT you do is a list of the holidays on which no trading takes place. Then, given a beginning day and an ending day, you would first calculate the number of 'work days' (count all Monday through Friday days - this can be done with an existing Excel function). THEN, for each Holiday date in your list, perform an operation to check whether that holiday date DOES or DOES NOT fall within your date range. Then do an operation to count the number of Holidays that DO fall in your date range and subtract this from the number of work days.
The hardest part of all this would probably be getting the detailed list of all the historical Holidays and 'special' days on which no trading occurred. I suspect it would be quite straightforward to get 'close' since the basic holidays which close trading don't change often from year to year. However, collecting the list of non-trading days caused by 'special'events (for example, closed trading days following the death of a president). Anyway, generating the Holiday list is a one time task, after which you only have to be alert each year for any changes or special events which occur which would produce additions or deletions from your list for a new year.
