vitaminm, PRHYX is the standard bearer for the open end junk bond market, although I believe it is closed to new investors. But if you want to high power your junk portfolio the closed end funds far outstrip the returns of the open end funds. The junk standard bearer for the closed end junk market is DSU which returned 30% last year. I actually sold some junk today because the cash junk market has been a bit sloppy this week and I needed to free up some monies in case I need to continue increasing my stock positions. I've increased for five consecutive days now but this tidbit from the tickersense.com site is not very comforting as apparently there is a 71% chance the market will be down over the next week.

Thanks,

I prefer open end junk funds or GNMA funds for savings and closed end funds for trading due to their volatility because of dividend cuts.

I would just like to say that I don't have contempt for any other kind of trading. It is true that I am mainly a long term investor. Another poster posted today that someone could say they had been long since 1974. Well in my investment account I have been. In 1974 in the Wellington Fund, switched to the Vanguard S&P500 in 1978. Been long in it since. Remain so today. Reinvesting all distributions. Some of my posts have been in response to the insult ment talk of so called "bagholders" here. There are a lot of worse investment decisions than holding that bag of mine since 1974. But that said do not mean to insult any other type of trading. And I do know that I am out of place on this board. But have been posting the trades I have made in trading account for almost 4 years here in real time & will continue to post them until I exit this last trade. In about 2 hours my plane leaves for Miami, so good luck to all on your trading. Hope someone makes that 80% to 200% profit in 6 months another poster said short term traders make in their trading.
