When I worked with people at the KCBT, a floor trader was said to "puke" a holding when he or she sold an unprofitable long position or covered an unprofitable short position. There is no need to distinguish between the two types of puking; recent market direction provides context. I believe this board needs a smilie that says "I just puked." The quantity of pukes would be metric associated with capitulation and indicate potential for a near-term reversal. I also believe that an earlier poster was getting at this idea when he or she was badgering traders with short positions --- asking them if they covering or moving stops. So seemingly unfriendly banter may be productive at times. Here is another idea. If there were a smilie for "moving stops," that might serve as a continuation signal.
