after 2 years of all day lurking, I'm trying to see if this is how you post to FF....following the markets, rather than forecasting and trying to identify low risk entries for buying or selling.. with the knowledge that pride (of opinion) goeth before the fall ...my first contribution is to bring attention to an interesting chart (sorry, haven't learned how to attach a chart to a post)..it can be viewed on stockcharts.com....under "charts speak louder than words" from W. Yan...chart #6....$BPCOMP/VXN...reading is close to 3 year high

Hey Tom! Welcome.

Try copying the link and just paste it into a post. That'll make it easier for us to find. There's also a tutorial (that the staff or Roger will post a link to) that will show you how to insert SC charts into posts. Check out the help area for starters (assuming that the direct link isn't posted already).

....following the markets, rather than forecasting

and here i thought they labelled the board "Fearless FORECASTERS" just for the laughs,
Again , why come to a "FORECASTING" board and rip on forecasting, might as well go to a NRA meeting and
push for gun control, try it and see how many holes you end up with. :D

He's not ripping "Forecasting" but rather he's being clear that a reactive approach is more effective than a preconceived notion. After all, whenever you take a long or short position, you're forecasting "Higher" or "Lower". Mark

no "rip on forecasting" intended...if anything using objective technical analysis to circumvent emotional opinion formation to preclude judgement errors resulting from expressed or unexpressed excessive pride of opinion.....
