When it comes to news reporting, "HISTORIC" often equals HYSTERICAL.
This caught my eye this week:
Mexico – Historic snowfall in the SantuariosThe "Historic" history only goes back 30 years.
The myopic don't know that that Santa Anna's Mexican army marched through snow to attack the Alamo in March, 1836.

SHOCK REPORT: AP willingly cooperated with Nazis...
When Adolf Hitler’s National Socialists rose to power in 1933, all international news agencies but the US-based AP were forced to leave Germany. The AP continued to operate in the Third Reich until 1941, when the United States joined World War II.
According to German historian Harriet Scharnberg, the world’s biggest news agency was only allowed to remain in Germany because it signed a deal with the regime.

The main problem is the form not the content. Media addiction shapes the way people think.
For a start, it takes-up attention for a large and increasing proportion of the day. It demands continuous availability - so that we must always be rapidly/ instantly contactable via media, and must always answer the call of media (it is socially unacceptable not to answer a call, to ignore unwanted messages etc).
The attention is grabbed, manipulated, switched - again and again, thousands of times a day
A mind-set is created by the mass'social media which believes and expects a world without organisation, a world without control, a world without purpose, a world without blame - a world where 'stuff just happens'...
And beyond this is that phenomena are presented as 'dots' but the 'dots' are not connected honestly or truthfully to see what they may imply.
