A few weeks in and we've already surpassed the number of saars infections by 100% already have half as many deaths. Doubling infectious cases roughly every 2 to 3 days

Let's just get real here. This virus has only infected WORLDWIDE a couple more thousand people than the Flu has KILLED (that's right KILLED) in just the United States this year. The Flu has killed over 8,000 people in the US this year and there are only 8 or 9 infections of Coronavirus TOTAL in the US so far. If you think China, I would guess that at least TWICE as many have died from the Flu THIS YEAR as have been INFECTED with this new virus. And the death rate versus the infection rate is no more dramatic than it is with the Flu. MERS was fairly serious. SARS, the other well=known corona killed about 1% of those infected. Right now, there is no evidence that this one is any worse than that. This is NOT Ebola. Why don't we panic OVER THE Flu? The same people are at risk with this one as are at risk with the Flu. Elderly and those with weakened immune systems. We're acting like this is the plague. It's not.

With 8,000-Plus Deaths in U.S. Alone, Flu Far More Deadly Than Coronavirus

If there is nothing to it as you suggest, why are 50 million Chinese quarantined? Im no doctor. Why are we in the US restricting flights from China to only 7 airports? Some countries stopping them altogether.

Do we do this with the flu?

So now there are updated numbers. 17,205 cases confirmed in China. How many people have died from this there? 360 plus one death outside of China. The China numbers reflect exactly what I said. Death rate is 2%. About the same as the Flu. It is no more serious than the Flu. Politicians have to err on the side of caution. If they don't and are wrong it would be political suicide. Corporations (like airlines) have to do the same in a world where you can get sued over almost NOTHING. It is an overreaction. The numbers support that. Will it get worse before it gets better? Maybe. Will the overreacting continue? Probably.
