12spx....given that you are a passionate........ my point of force is the forehand which is very violent (....one day a guy at a tournament, looking at me..........''he has a forehand that kills you''........I have to say he was right). The single hand top spin (or back spin when I need to slow down the speed because I' m defending) back hand is spectacular, the serve is good........problems are when I get close to the net because training with the idiot I said in previous threads, I didn' t ever need to go to the net and so time after time I have lost the touch I once upon a time had. So, from the base line I' m still a giant, getting close to net I' m in troubles. But I' m going to increase my net attitude getting back to where I was when younger, simply changing sparring partner, which thing I have already done.

I too am mostly a baseliner but have gotten pretty good at the net because of team tennis.  Amazing how fast you can switch hands at the net lol!!  Got my new radical yesterday not sure I like it as much as the stringing can't be as tight, I like 63 now its at 57 so not sure I like it as much!  My 15 year old racket does just fine lol!

I use lower tensions......18 kg.....no one I know have such low tensions, but my four previous generation's rackets have the precision of a surgical weapon so that I can lower the string tension in favour of a higher ball speed and a more arm friendly behaviour of the system racket-strings. Three years ago or two and a half, I can' t even remember exactly, I bought a new generation racket........it ended up in my garage a week later. I think the most recent development in tennis rackets production has taken the way to make every low level player feel like a champion throwing some missiles once in a while. The price to pay for them is that 90% of times they catch the birds flying over the court. The secret for speedy tennis shots is the skill you may have or not, to transfer to the ball your body's weight. You don' t need to be 2 meter tall for that. I' m not, but I have that skill and usually I overcome people that are phisically way stronger than I am. Learn to transfer your body's weight to the ball when you hit it.......and you will play like a champion or a semi-champion. The whole tennis technique stands in just that skill.

in detail It's all about phisics........the principle of conservation of energy. You move your body forward (and your racket) as fast as you can. In the exact moment you stop your body, which is when you hit, the cinetic energy that your body loses gets transferred to the ball........et voila' a missile is thrown. The cinetic energy that your body has transferred to the ball is equal to half the product of your body mass for the speed, elevated at 2, your body has when you stop it at the impact with the ball. Plain and simple everything is based on phisics...........same considerations for the racket' s cinetic energy. That was what I meant saying ''learn to transfer your body's weight to the ball''.
