If one is going to allow social and other media forms to make your emotional decisions for you, you get what you deserve.

This is no different than those futures brokers radio and television commercials about gold and oil that permeate the airwaves at or near the tops.

The most costly "investment" you will ever make is one based on emotional investment.

"Never love anything that can't love you back."

My daughter was all "a twitter" for the last few weeks over Doge.

Last week she was getting interested in Ethereum, down 38% since then.

My insurance agent was preaching Bitcoin at $60,000, now at $38,000!

Our best friend was mad at us for not signing up under her to sell MonaVie, just before it went belly up, defaulting on a US$182 million loan and went into foreclosure.

Got Shacklee, Avon, Watkins, Emu eggs?

Once you see this movie...you know the end.

In 1929, JFK’s father Joseph Kennedy Sr., while sitting in the shoeshine chair was alarmed to have the shoeshine boy gift him with several tips on which stocks he should own — yes, a shoeshine boy playing the stock market.

This unsolicited advice resulted in a life-changing moment for Kennedy Sr. who promptly went back to his office and started unloading his stock portfolio. He didn’t just get out at the top, he scored a massive windfall on the way down as well.

The new generation of reddit etc has been conditioned to buy all dips, and they almost always downvote people with any kind of bearish opinion into oblivion. They thrive on having an echo chamber.  Then again last year I had made a post in early March about getting ready for the Fed printers starting and they laughed at that one because they were all full bearmode, so they can go to the other side sometimes, if they see posts of people making money on it.

So true I've had some friends lately do the exact same thing and I warned them that it was going to take a hit with all of the discussion but they ignored me!

The easy money in this market has been made already (SPX 2250---->4200 in 14 months)

Now it gets harder. Dip buyers have done well so far, but I am selling on stronger days, and not buying the dips.

Now it is time to go on cruises if CDC will stop strangling the cruise industry in FL, TX & AK.

I am intrigued by the potential of crypto currency.

But so far it has been more of a casino frenzy on social media.

But, like the first airplanes, the bugs need to be worked out before I get fully on board.

U.S. Treasury cracks down on crypto: transfers over $10K to be reported to IRS

May 20, 2021

The U.S. Treasury Department announced that it would be taking steps to implement stricter cryptocurrencies compliance through IRS, adding that the crypto space poses a tax-evasion risk.

The crypto world is part of the Biden administration's proposal to reinforce tax compliance, with a new requirement to report any crypto transfer of at least $10,000 or more to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Treasury Department said on Thursday.

"As with cash transactions, businesses that receive cryptoassets with a fair-market value of more than $10,000 would also be reported on," the Treasury Department said in a report on tax-enforcement proposals. "Within the context of the new financial account reporting regime, cryptocurrencies and cryptoasset exchange accounts and payment service accounts that accept cryptocurrencies would be covered."

Keep stacking...Heads, I win. Tails, you lose.

Bitcoin price to hit $307k by October, then $12.5 million by 2031

His forecast is based on the assumption that the money supply will continue to grow exponentially, with the nominal value of Bitcoin growing alongside it.

Breedlove expects the M2 money supply to double again in the next four years, and then double again after that until the U.S. money supply grows to about 40% of the world's money supply in 10 years' time.

"Bitcoin will actually be nominally valued at $12.5 million."

Folks in Argentina replied, "Yeah. I could see that."

Argentine inflation forecast at 46% for year 2021

Crypto crash wiped out $1 trillion this week.

"Jerome Powell also said the central bank would publish a paper this summer that will explore the implications of the US government developing a digital currency of its own.

A potential central bank digital currency "could serve as a complement to, and not a replacement of, cash and current private-sector digital forms of the dollar, such as deposits at commercial banks," Powell said.

Is it a bubble? Probably, according to ethereum co-creator Vitalik Buterin. In an interview with CNN Business this week, Buterin said he wasn't surprised by the crash, because he's seen it all before.
"We've had at least three of these big crypto bubbles so far," he said. "And often enough, the reason the bubbles end up stopping is because some event happens that just makes it clear that the technology isn't there yet."
