It sure looks like the vaccines' benefits have been grossly exaggerated.

"It compares the outcomes of the roughly 18,000 vaccinated and infected people seem at the medical centers with a much larger group of Covid patients - about 2.5 million people - who were not vaccinated and visited the same centers at any point during the epidemic.
About 84 percent of the vaccinated patients were seen as outpatients, while 16 percent required hospitalization.
In comparison, about 77 percent of unvaccinated patients were seen as outpatients, while 23 percent were hospitalized.
Almost 1 percent of the vaccinated patients had serious outcomes, including death, compared to just over 2 percent of the unvaccinated patients."

The actual study is here (see Table 4). Note that this data is pre-Omicron.

https://jamanetwork....article/2787643

There's more than enough evidence COVID vaccinations save lives. Both hospitalizations and infections. This particular study appears to be looking at what happens to those who've been admitted to the hospital. It appears people who are vaccinated fair slightly better than those who are unvaccinated with immune dysfunction. Makes sense given the sample size of the vaccinated group is 18,000 while the unvaccinated is 2.5 million.

Conclusions and Relevance  This cohort study found that full vaccination was associated with reduced risk of COVID-19 breakthrough infection, regardless of the immune status of patients. Despite full vaccination, persons with immune dysfunction had substantially higher risk for COVID-19 breakthrough infection than those without such a condition. For persons with immune dysfunction, continued use of nonpharmaceutical interventions (eg, mask wearing) and alternative vaccine strategies (eg, additional doses or immunogenicity testing) are recommended even after full vaccination.

Somewhat surprisingly, the researchers found immune-compromised people had only a slight extra risk of SARS-Cov-2 infection, though they had about three times the risk of dying from Covid as people without immune disorders.

those with immune dysfunction, such as HIV infection, rheumatoid arthritis, and solid organ transplant, had a higher rate for COVID-19 breakthrough infection and worse outcomes after full or partial vaccination, compared with persons without immune dysfunction.

Please take a look at the CDC.

I'm confused why this is titled "Not a lot of benefit from vaccines". The COVID vaccines have saved millions of lives. Visiting a hospital dopes not mean admission. It even says in the introduction with references, Vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 have been found to be highly effective and safe in both clinical trials and real-world settings.1-7 B

I wonder why the CDC says don't go on a cruise even when every person on board is fully "vaccinated".

There should be no problem.

Cruises should be avoided regardless of vaccination status,

CDC says CDC warns 'avoid cruise travel' after more than 5,000 COVID cases in two weeks amid omicron

So there's no point in cancelling an entire industry. Or is there?

It's all about lowering risk. They also suggest you don't attend large gatherings. Anything to lower your chances of coming in close contact with a COVID positive person. It's really a question of how much risk you're willing to take. Those who are Immune-compromised obviously would take less risk than an 18 year old in good health. Cruise industry is operational, just a matter of who is happy to take the risk.

Those that died less than 14 days after their second jab are not "fully vaccinated." The vast majority of clot shot deaths happen within two days of the clot shot so most of the stats out there are bogus.

I'm confused, there are only 3 tables under the table part and the study says:

The table was there when I posted the article. I checked to be sure.

Funny that.

The CDC is no longer a reliable source. They are hopelessly compromised.

At 210 days post vaccination, the over 50 set is MORE likely to get covid, not less. They are likely less likely to mount an effective defense against new variants (as we're now seeing with Omicron).

And 16% hospitalization vs. 23% hospitalization is not much of a benefit. What I'm really worried about is immune issues down the road from the spike proteins. There seem to be a lot more folks being killed and injured by the vaccine than originally thought. I'm HOPING against hope that the vast majority clear the spike protein and rebuilt their immune systems. That appears less likely with more boosters.

Regardless, I would not want any pregnant women or women planning on getting pregnant getting vaccinated, and certainly no boys or young men. The risks of harm are far higher than the possible benefits, especially if one is not vitamin D deficient or obese.
