The Economic Waste of Wind and Solar

Wind and solar are erratic sources of electricity. Solar stops when a cloud passes in front of the sun or the sun sets. Wind fades when the wind is weak. Thus wind or solar must be backed up by other generating plants, most commonly natural gas generating plants. The backup plants must ramp up and down to compensate for the ups and downs of the erratic wind or solar power.

Wind and solar do not replace existing generating plants and are not a substitute for adding traditional generation when demand increases. They are too erratic.

Wind and solar are highly subsidized and uneconomic.

The book, Dumb Energy, exposes the fraud of wind and solar energy and explains why they are a danger to the electric grid

Australia's Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull out of office over foisting expensive 'green' power on his nation

Devotion to global warming has driven from office the head of government of a major democracy.  Facing a no confidence vote from the Liberal Party, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull resigned

There is little doubt that green energy policies cost Turnbull his office.  There has been widespread dissatisfaction over electricity prices that have skyrocketed as a result of the closure of coal-fired power plants and replacement with unreliable green energy (that has caused major blackouts).

Saudi Arabia puts world's biggest solar power project on hold

Saudi Arabia and funding partner SoftBank have reportedly shelved the $200 billion project.

Despite vast deserts and abundant sunshine, Saudi Arabia currently has no solar power generation capacities. Instead, it produces its energy primarily from burning fossil fuels.

But the country's entry into the solar market is being hampered by high costs and logistical issues.

"Everyone is just hoping this whole idea would just die," a Saudi energy official familiar with the matter was quoted as saying.

Michael Moore-backed Doc, ‘Planet of the Humans,’ Tackles ‘False Promises’ of Green Energy

“It was kind of crushing to discover that the things I believed in weren’t real, first of all, and then to discover not only are the solar panels and wind turbines not going to save us … but (also) that there is this whole dark side of the corporate money … It dawned on me that these technologies were just another profit center.”

“It’s up to people who actually share the same values to sometimes call each other out and bring out the uncomfortable truths,” Gibbs said.

Walmart asks Telsa to remove solar panels from 240 stores and pay damages after 7 fires

The lawsuit accuses Tesla of having untrained workers putting up shoddy installations and showing “utter incompetence or callousness, or both,” court papers said.

The lawsuit is the latest blow to Tesla’s struggling solar business, which it acquired through its $2.6 billion purchase of SolarCity in 2016. Quarterly installations have plummeted more than 85 percent since the deal, as Tesla has cut its solar panel sales force and ended a distribution deal with Home Depot Inc .
