Amazon raised the minimum wage for its workforce to $15 a hour and urged the federal government to do the same for everyone.

In the federal government's case it would more than double the current federal minimum wage and be a move akin to Henry Ford's famous 1914 wage raise that launched the middle-class and made the American economy the strongest the world has ever seen, but it does have repercussions according to this latest report:

On the plus side the next time the President throws rolls of paper towels at people, calling it hurricane relief, it could be closer to being hurricane relief. swoon.gif

it varies within provinces, about 13.00 on average though and getting close to 15 next year.
