"The Zogby Poll®: Voters reject socialism; Half of voters have an unfavorable impression of socialism; A majority of Democrats do not want their party to declare itself a "socialist party""

"KANSAS CITY, MO – A recent poll conducted by Remington Research Group found that a majority (51%) of American voters oppose The Green New Deal. The poll surveyed 1,212 registered voters nationwide.

Democrats support The Green New Deal by a 25-point margin (51% support, 26% oppose), while Republican and Independent voters overwhelmingly oppose the proposed legislation.

Respondents were also asked if they had to choose, whether they would prefer federal funding of a border wall or The Green New Deal. Over half (51%) of Americans say they would prefer the U.S. government fund a border wall, rather than The Green New Deal (31%). Independents would prefer a border wall to The Green New Deal by a 2-1 margin, while Republicans would prefer a border wall by a 68-point margin.

“The Green New Deal has presented an interesting situation for Democrats. Democratic voters support this legislation, while the rest of the country overwhelmingly opposes it. It will be intriguing to watch Democratic leaders and presidential hopefuls navigate this issue with their base while still appealing to mainstream voters,” said Titus Bond, President of Remington Research Group."

"WASHINGTON – Nearly half of U.S. voters support a recently unveiled proposal to combat the effects of climate change known as the Green New Deal, according to a poll released Wednesday.

The Morning Consult/Politico poll found that 48 percent of the respondents said they support the proposal and 20 percent said they do not. Meanwhile, 24 percent said they are not sure if they support the proposal.

The poll found that 72 percent of Democrats said they support the proposal, compared with 25 percent of Republicans and 44 of independent voters."

THE TIDE BEGINS TO TURN

Of course they want it all ... but they don't want to suffer for it.

1 ... recent poll: vast majority would not pay $10 a month to ''fix global warming''.
2 ... they have NO IDEA what it would take (cost them) to have these things.
3 ... they still think ''grown ups'' would supply all this.
4 ... NO understanding of economics outside of what the left says to think

As the naysayers going on naysaying, as if every economic investment is a cost with no return, the woman is reaching back to the transformative eras of American history in an effort to usher in another one before it's too late.

"What is the matter with this younger generation?!" the older generations cry again and  again about younger generation after generation, forgetting that frustrated question was once applied to them when they were young, and every time in the nation's history when its time has run, it has been a oh-so-lame a cry. It will be again.

This country was not built by those pooh-poohing every new thing ("get a horse") nor by those who have nothing else but to always say no ("these highways are going to cost too much) and to continually disparage change ("Television won't be able to hold on to any market it captures after the first six months. People will soon get tired of staring at a plywood box every night" and "There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home").  Granted, naysayers have a colorful history of being wrong and they will be left behind again.

Even if you can't quite understand what they are up to, CELEBRATE THE KIDS! They're going to make a better world...again!

Just click on Alexander Hamilton, the economic father of the country, and he will lead you through a maze of intellectual economists and policy analysts on both sides of the conversation that is changing to, of course, none other than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:

And it is legitimately tricky to talk about the history of U.S. industrial policy, especially on the left. Sure, the government has guided the invisible hand throughout American economic history—but it has also guided the bayonet and the lash. In the 1790s, Hamilton’s prized financial system counted enslaved bodies as a type of commodity, alongside cotton and wheat. In the 1860s, the government had western land to “freely” give away because it violently seized it from indigenous people first. In the 1950s, suburbanization enriched America, but it did not enrich black Americans, who were systematically prevented from obtaining federal-backed mortgages. Much of the Green New Deal’s racial-justice agenda reads as an attempt to deal with this legacy—and to ensure that people of color are not left out of the next great redirection of the American economy. Hence the policies aimed at spreading the wealth: the paid medical leave, the job guarantee, the promise to honor tribal treaties.

But the sum effect has been that Ocasio-Cortez and her team shout about equity while whispering about the economy. If the word manufacturing is now a racial dog whistle, who better than a popular leftist congresswoman to reclaim its whine?
