How about try looking at your own state website for starters?

I look at it about once a week but have never seen a standard established for reporting purposes.   Hence one does NOT know what any of those number really represent.    All I can tell you is based on our local news they are concerned over the number of hospital beds that remain and are only allowing COVID patients in.   We have four large public hospitals in the area and a few smaller ones that service about 1 million people.

California reported the highest yet number of cases yesterday. Testing has increased massively. Confirmed cases hospitalization is at our highest.

My countys free testing is fully booked for a week.
And they only allow us to book a week in advance.

More cases is a more of a good thing than more of a bad thing. Because majority testing positive are asymptomatic, and possibly building anti-bodies and T-cells in their system to fight future virus attack, also called "immunity". The more people develop immunity, the better off we will be.

A good example of this is New York, where governor Cuomo was shocked to find out people who were quarantined at home had more serious symptoms requiring hospitalization than people who were getting out of the house more.

So CA and AZ had big drops today. We "may" have peaked there.

TX and FL still up a bit, but likely within a few days of peak.

Biggest daily jump

Where does it say CA had big drops?

Maybe there is fake news being spread.

could be a timing difference, other site reported more than yours did yesterday.

LA County, the Big Kahuna showed a sizable drop today at worldometers.

worldometers seems to agree pretty closely with LA county website..pretty huge drop

if those numbers continue to stay down in LA, good news indeed as the spike may be done, and folks can get on with life soon

Any of you guys read this study on the N95s?

These were just the ordinary ones from the National Strategic Stockpile.

Wow!...breathing 3% or 30,000 ppm CO2 does not sound like a recipe for health to me. Let alone restricting oxygen well below the below OSHA safety limits on O2, at under 17%

Certainly wouldn't want to wear one for any extended length of time...and imagine the extra stress on folks who are already not healthy if they wear these for hours on end.

http://rc.rcjournal....5/5/569/tab-pdf

We assessed the physiological impact upon healthcare workers of an N95 FFR with and without an exhalation valve, and measured the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the FFR’s dead space (FFR VD)

The timed mean mixed inhalation/exhalation FFR (mask) VD CO2 and O2 values, respectively, over 1 hour, for the FFR (2.9%, 16.6%) and the FFR-with-valve (2.9%, 16.7%) did not differ significantly by work rate or FFR model, and are comparable to other studies.

Although the FFR VD O2 level was lower than the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s workplace standard (<19.5% O2 is considered deficient) and the FFR VD CO2 level was higher (0.5% CO2 as an 8-h time-weighted average, is normal), these standards apply to the ambient workplace atmosphere, not to the FFR VD.

Nonetheless, breathing-environment CO2 >3% has been associated with detrimental physiological effects, and prolonged breathing of CO2 at greater than the atmospheric level can cause symptoms (eg, headache, anxiety, and confusion) and the additional physiological stress of compensatory mechanisms.

Nevermind, I see you were talking about the other site. They roll the numbers every night around 8 eastern, so yesterday is now today's number.

Yesterday was 2320.
