NYC doing good now is great proof, that large number of infections are a good thing.
It must be building herd immunity.
I have done all normal activities in March, April, May and June. But never got infected.
Never wore a mask until June and only if the establishment made it mandatory.
So thoughts were going in circles in my brain.... How did an 80 year old fart like me escape covid-19?
I have shopped at Walmart every week without a mask, been to my community Gym every day, dined in restaurants in March & June, visited cancer hospital every 3 weeks, was in bank to retrieve my hand gun from safe deposit box, got fitted for new glasses, filled gas several times, walked on the beautiful Saint Augustine beach, etc etc.
Well it turns out it I did NOT escape covid-19 infection! I had this dry cough in early March. I never remember dry cough before, it is usually productive. Our Carnival Cruise ending on February 29th was crowded, and we never missed crowded buffets and stage shows and bars. So I must have caught a mild covid-19 infection along with my wife who is battling cancer, on the cruise. We both had dry cough upon returning from cruise. We just ignored it as we do all minor colds and coughs. We both must have acquired immunity from the mild infection and that explains why I never caught infection again since March.
