If NYSE breadth holds together today, and we get one more 80% day Tuesday or Wednesday, and Tuesday or Wednesday are not crushed, we will have a 10 day NYSE exponential moving average breadth thrust.  Parameters for ema versions vary a lot more than the simple moving average versions, but on Sept 23rd the 10 day ema advancing breadth closed at 38.4% and the sma 43.2%.  Two more days in the 10 day window to get the ema over 62.5% and that will signal some type of breadth thrust.  The last thrust I saw was from May 14th to May 28th on the sma and that took us to SPX 3000 and has held ever since, so if this signal triggers would expect 3200 to hold thru the end of the year.  FWIW

Japan Nikkei Index is approaching a very interesting resistance level from 2018 as well.  Things start to get real interesting above 23,600 tonight, and long term above 24,000 on the cash market later.  Just wondering if a short squeeze above 24K would approach 30K...................

Well well.

what a bull.

I closed 2/3 of my Vix etf longs and flipped long the SP just before the close.

im expecting a tear up into options expiration now.

what I expect, however, often fails to materialise

As expected, my long is stopped out at 3997 cash. Flipping short again !

Goldman Sachs analyst said a few weeks ago that they expect SPX 3600 by the end of the year:
