Stocks up, gold up, Dollar down, rates down and soft commodities not going anywhere only means "food shortages." Farmers are not going to kill themselves working and going bankrupt while everyone else gets government checks for doing nothing.

I talk about food shortages in my recent post. Great chart! Thx!

You won't need any food when gas stoves and gasoline are illegal and the power grids are destroyed by terrorists.

And the chickens all have the flu...

And the government bans anti-vax truckers...

If there will be food shortages, it could be the best thing for Americans who are the most obese on earth. Food shortages might take a huge leap towards better health since obesity brings on so many health problems.

Well, it's the carbohydrates and sugar that are the drivers of all of it. Alas, when people are starving, they don't eat good proteins and fats.

Perhaps because carby junk foods are way cheaper than good protein and good fat foods. Salmon fish is very good food but quite expensive.

In my own case, what is saving my health is regular exercise. I eat whatever is on sale at the grocery store LOL.

My hobby has been gardening since grade school.

Currently I have green onions, rosemary, arugula, lettuce, 3 tomato plants and about 100 (very tasty) salad tomatoes growing in my "Garden Room," a spare bedroom.

They add needed humidity to the house and some needed heat from the LED grow lights.

But now a seed packet of just a few seeds costs $2.50 to grow $2 worth of vegetables!

I think the Backyard Chicken fad has slowed, after folks found out the reality of that.

Costco and Sams both sell rotisserie chickens for under $5 (a profit loss leader for their club members)

Whole, fresh chicken is about $10!

RogerDodger is a woman?  I'd love to see your setup and how you did it. I bet there is a youtube video on how to do it.

RogerDodger is a woman?

My wife of 52 years will be so surprised! LOL!

She just about left me when, decades ago,  I bought home chickens and Sadie, a one eyed Nubian milk goat!...

(Back then it cost $3 for a bale of alfalfa to make $2 worth of milk!)

I'd love to see your setup and how you did it.

All you need is some Masterblend 4-18-38 Tomato Formula and water, air, and light.

But there is no cure for the gardening obsession. It IS the cure!

How can dirt turn into a delicious tomato, cucumber, egg plant,  or sweet potato?

I have even grown tobacco, as our forefathers did! Humming birds love tobacco flowers, as I found out!!!.

I have tried every method from Hydroponics,  Aeroponics, Ebb and Flow, Kratky, Rain Gutter, and even growing in dirt! They all work.

LED lighting has made it much cheaper to grow inside. No Bugs or pesticides, and I figure the utilities cost is about like having a nice aquarium.

Today the legalized POT business and their supplies has made it much easier to grow anything indoors.

Youtube is my go-to source for any and every new obsession.

One thing it has made me appreciate is how much work our ancestors did just to survive.

A "Kitchen Garden" and some chickens was a must have 100 years ago.

It may be again...

BUT... it is much cheaper and less work to buy store produce... if they have any.

I mean, how many sweet taters can a guy eat?

Yep, I just went back on intermediate fasting. I eat once a day, every 24 hours. Lost 10 pounds of fat the first 2 weeks. Blood pressure .heart rate .oxygen levels all improved. I exercise half hour to an hour a day. Meditate the same. Mind ,body ,Spirit.
