U.S. Repeals Propaganda Ban, Spreads Government-Made News to Americans

U.S. Repeals Propaganda Ban, Spreads Government-Made News to Americans
For decades, a so-called anti-propaganda law prevented the U.S. government’s mammoth broadcasting arm from delivering programming to American audiences.

But on July 2, that came silently to an end with the implementation of a new reform passed in January. The result: an unleashing of thousands of hours per week of

government-funded radio and TV programs for domestic U.S. consumption in a reform initially criticized as a green light for U.S. domestic propaganda efforts. So what just happened?

Until this month, a vast ocean of U.S. programming produced by the Broadcasting Board of Governors such as Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty,

and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks could only be viewed or listened to at broadcast quality in foreign countries. The programming varies in tone and quality,

but its breadth is vast: It’s viewed in more than 100 countries in 61 languages. The topics covered include human rights abuses in Iran, self-immolation in Tibet, human

trafficking across Asia, and on-the-ground reporting in Egypt and Iraq.

The restriction of these broadcasts was due to the Smith-Mundt Act, a long-standing piece of legislation that has been amended numerous times over the years, perhaps

most consequentially by Arkansas Senator J. William Fulbright. In the 1970s, Fulbright was no friend of VOA and Radio Free Europe, and moved to restrict them from

domestic distribution, saying they "should be given the opportunity to take their rightful place in the graveyard of Cold War relics." Fulbright’s amendment to Smith-Mundt

was bolstered in 1985 by Nebraska Senator Edward Zorinsky, who argued that such "propaganda" should be kept out of America as to distinguish the U.S. "from the Soviet

Union where domestic propaganda is a principal government activity."

Zorinsky and Fulbright sold their amendments on sensible rhetoric: American taxpayers shouldn’t be funding propaganda for American audiences. So did Congress just

tear down the American public’s last defense against domestic propaganda?

Trump vs Trudeau is like Godzilla vs Bambi

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has already announced the Canadian government’s willingness to renegotiate NAFTA.   In addition, President Trump’s energy agenda plans to triple domestic U.S. energy production, no carbon tax, and the Trump tax proposal drops the corporate tax rate to 15%.

Obama cashes in.  Paid $400,oo0 for Wall Street speech.

Looting the middle class is well-rewarded.

Obamacare and Global Warming are just two ways the Ruling Class loots the Middle Class.

When he was president he called them “fat cats”.

Former President Barack Obama, less than 100 days out of office, has agreed to speak at a Wall Street conference run by Cantor Fitzgerald.

His speaking fee will be $400,000, which is nearly twice as much as Hillary Clinton, his secretary of state, and the 2016 Democratic Party candidate, charged private businesses for such events.

The G20 communique directly and specifically paves the way for the U.S. team to begin leveraging economic market power with unilateral trade agreements.

The ‘America First’ Trump-Trade Doctrine upsets the entire construct of this multinational export/control dynamic.  Team Trump focuses exclusively on bilateral trade deals with specific policy only looking out for the national interests of the United States and those who are allied with a similar perspective.

If you can see the long-term ramifications, you can understand the inherent anger, and also have context for the severity of the opposition to President Trump’s approach.

There are trillions of dollars in economic activity now being restructured by President Trump.  The downstream consequences are seismic shifts in geopolitical and strategic alliances.

Simply put this approach destroys the cancer of elitist controlled economic construct; which are entirely intended to benefit a small number of global elites who control the multinational banking and multinational corporate institutional systems.

Lest you doubt there's a ruling class ...

Republican Senate Blocks President Trump From Recess Appointments:

There are over 100 Trump nominations awaiting confirmation from the Senate.  The Senators will not return until after Labor Day.

The Slow-Motion Coup d’Etat picks up steam

Leak of full transcripts of presidential conversations with foreign leaders a milestone in effort to paralyze the Trump administration.

Why Leaking Transcripts of Trump’s Calls Is So Dangerous

Thursday’s leak to The Washington Post of President Trump’s calls with the president of Mexico and the prime minister of Australia will reverberate around the world. No leader will again speak candidly on the phone to Washington, D.C.--. If these calls can be leaked, any call can be leaked—and no leader dare say anything to the president of the United States that he or she would not wish to read in the news at home.

 The Administrative State Declares Independence:

Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates, an Obama holdover, recently authored one of the most pernicious columns within memory in the New York Times. Her column argued, in essence, that there exists an Executive Branch that is independent of, and superior to, the President–.

Yates argues for a permanent bureaucracy in Washington that is impervious to the wishes of the voters, who may occasionally be so imprudent as to elect a Republican president.

The appalling Sally Yates urges that the Constitution be left in the dust, and that unelected bureaucrats be elevated above the president whom they ostensibly serve. It is hard to imagine a theory more at odds with our Constitution or our political traditions.

Americans trust the middle class, not the ruling class

Confidence in U.S. institutions:

Middle class institutions:

73% Military

68% Small business

56% Police

Ruling class institutions:

21% TV news

18% Big business

09% Congress
