One of my favourite one liners comes from Deepak Chopra (MD / endocrinologist / author) who
broke away from what he calls his own "rigidly ingrained belief system." No one is immune.
No profession is immune. Thoreau (spelling?) stated it this way - "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation."

The line I like from Chopra is -

"Most people are trapped in the hypnosis of social conditioning."

That might be from our
schooling, our professional life, our social circle or any number of other influences.

I believe that most people's behaviour is controlled by what other people want ... the goals of
others instead of our own intrinsic goals. My brother was joking last night that this certainly
works .... he loves golf and after seeing Tauger (spelling?) watch ads with Tiger Woods,
and a few other celebs .... he actually considered buying one. At least he's aware
of the connection. I'd suggest that most people are not.

We do tend to think we're right .... however there are several ways of looking at life. Many ways to
look at problems and potential solutions. Life is complicated and filled with paradox.
We don't have all the answers and never will. But health (being a WHOLE person) is certainly
influenced by our daily habits (which are influenced by our social conditioning).

Best, C.C.
