Thanks for that dougie. Playing both bullion and the miners or weighting bullion more than the miners has been the way to go for conservative investors since 2006.

Do you know what occured about the time this divergence between bullion and the miners started? NEM topped out in Jan. 2006 I noted it technically and thought there was something odd in the way that it was trading. Look at a long term chart and you'll see that NEM just retested that top this summer.

I stood by that analysis and that high has held until this summer. Four years later. Have a look at where bullion has been since. And don't forget NEM is still lead dog for the HUI and XAU.
