Opening Comments
It was Saynonara all right yesterday, but do we want to look a gift horse
in the mouth? We want to wholeheartedly thank the talking heads (I'm
trying to be nice) for helping convince us the market was above to
nosedive when the day before yesterday they were pounding the table on
positive earnings and a positive economic outlook! We've said long ago
that sitting in front of the camera year after year makes you dumber, not
brighter! And, aren't you just a little sick of CNBC touting GE stock all
the time? We are!
Meanwhile, we have some nice profits on our short-sale recommendations in
the various ETFs and we may get an oversold bounce. However, there are
still unfulfilled downside targets. We'll make a trading decision
tomorrow, but we're inclined to hang on for the bigger ride into the
canyon of oblivion long overdue. Are we worried the Plunge Protection
Team will show up and gum up the works? Darn right we are! We know it's
not a level playing field and don't want to get caught into 'the
switches', as they say.
When you step back and look at the daily charts back since the beginning
of the year, the current decline (as compared to the summer highs) appears
miniscule - hardly a dent as compared to potential! Obviously, we can
look at this two ways. There is plenty of room on the downside, OR the
market is being held up artificially and may continue to be held up to
mask further problems from unfolding. We already know real estate is
starting to soften a bit, long-term interest rates are upticking, Fannie
Mae is embroiled in the biggest scandal of its existence potentially
jeapordizing the national real estate market, inflation has begun to reach
runaway stages due to the Crude Oil bubble, hurricanes and foreign demand
for natural resources and construction materials, and consumers (including
retail) have decided to step back cut back spending. This is bullish for
the stock market? Hardly. Caution is advised beyond October in our view,
possibly into early next year - but, alas, we have to make trading
decisions here day to day!
Gold is pulling back as expected, and we're looking to do some nibbling on
a further retracement, but we did warn you a September spike (per our
Annual Forecast Model) may have occurred and caution need to be exercised.
Long-termers hold. Traders look to buy!

NEW PICKS
=================================================================
Based on either Bullish or Bearish technical signals and the
Volume Reversal methodology, these stock picks look
primed to make a move. No trading system is 100% accurate and
care should be taken to consider market conditions before
entering any trade. Not all trades are suitable for all
investors and each investor should consider their own risk
profile before making a decision.
Format:
Symbol - Company Name
Buy @ = this is the strategic range picked by the VR staff.
Target: = estimated destination of equity during life of play.
Stop: = recommended* stop loss considering equity volatility.
*stop losses should be placed according to your own risk
tolerance.
=================================================================
RISK MANAGEMENT STRATEGY
When a stock declines/rallies 1 point or more from the price at
which bought or sold short, we will raise/lower stop to cost. This
will limit the potential loss on a trade. For each additional 1
point move, a further adjustment is made.
