Australia has a Prime Minister who is an Atheist and living in a defacto relationship.
Of course she wasn't elected but the party made a change to her.
Because of this she will lose the next election.
Instead we will get someone pretending religiosity and "happily" married.
How sad is it that those criteria matter.
The US has seen race and religion be barriers as well.
Some of those barriers have been overcome.
An atheist elected in the US? Not in the next 100 years I suspect.
Of course there probably has been a few but pretence is mandatory.
Jefferson could not be elected today. He didn't believe in the divinity of Jesus.
Why isn't capability the criteria any more.
It seems the world is heading back into the dark ages.
Seems faith is more important than truth.
