For my business:

Want to open Treasury Direct account: right now they are backed up 12-14 weeks!!!

Scary.

What options should I consider as I dont like having 1.5 million in one bank account. I am have 250K threshold accounts at every other bank in town. and frankly THAT is a huge headache.

true but those are likely MMF right? so if things go south money might not be liquid alla 2008 ( personally had my money in UST only MMF frozen for 8 weeks)

The mutual fund VSBSX is also available as an ETF symbol VGSH:https://personal.van...&FundIntExt=INT

If you open a Vanguard brokerage account there are ZERO COMMISSIONS when buying and selling their ETFs.
