It seems to contradict what VIX is telling us. Perhaps complacency is different from optimism. :blink:

Optimism by their use is defined as the willingness to invest additional funds. My thoughts on complacency would be "happy with where the market is". B) :cat:

:D In other words, people don't want to invest anymore till they see a meaningful pullback. However, they don't feel any need to protect their investments as they don't fear a major downside.

A "very meaningful" pullback may change things on both items :P
