This is a very good indicator tool if used correctly. All together I have studied the VXO for years (old vix) and find it fairly good at some forecasting. Below are three charts for your comments.

WOMEN & CATS WILL DO AS THEY PLEASE, AND MEN & DOGS SHOULD GET USED TO THE IDEA.
