from a book I just picked up for evening reading, and thought it was timely related to the recent market action: Never worry about anything. Worry does not bring any benefit to anyone. On the other hand, it saps your energy and takes away whatever capacity you do have. Instead, remain calm and peaceful, and you will always know what to do. ----------------- "comfort and ease" is a reminder that I find useful

What's the book, hiker? I'd like to read it. If you don't want to post it on the board, just send me a private email. Thanks. A teacher of mine told me this when I was worried about nuclear war long ago: he said if it happens, you're dead -- and if it doesn't happen, you get to keep worrying about it.

Synchs up with one of my own personal mantras that I've had for years. "Don't worry about things you can't control." Works for me anyway.
Before you start trading get your brain around risk control. Know how much leverage you're using and know when to go to cash if you're wrong.

Two paths, basically: if you can do something that alleviates your worry, then do it. If you can't do anything about it, then there's no reason to worry.
