thks, interesting. but what about 7.5 years peak in 1992 and 1984? and further on..

Yes, exactly. There is a great deal of data fitting that seems to go on here. Jack Hurst said that his testing indicated that cycles account for around 20% of price movement in stocks. In back testing Hurst analysis software I found that it does a very bad job of picking significant highs (16% of the time in the Dow and the S&P)) but of course it could be user error. It may work better on short term cycle turns from 20 days up to 18 months, depending on the tradable.
