I just posted that I think gold is about to bounce.. also went long OIH. Probably a bounce due for materials stocks.

Alcoa earnings jump 60% and stock jumps 5%? Why such a tepid response to the magnificent earnings numbers? Are the earnings based on FIFO or LIFO? IOW since Aluminum orders have long term delivery schedules, are these earnings based on deliveries during the 4th quarter or new orders during that period? My best guess is it must be deliveries based earnings which means you are looking at business conditions 4 to 6 months back. A more significant number would be new orders received more recently.
