Stickan, If i recall, there was a post from you just an year back on "Bear trap of the century". The century ain't complete yet and just after a year after that analysis, you seem to be suggesting "The bull trap of the century". That's a radical departure in such a short span of time. Would you mind explaining what went wrong with your prior anlaysis ?

Who said anything about a bulltrap - are you a lawyer?
Don't put words into my mouth please.

What went wrong?
Did anything go wrong?

My Post was on Sep 6 2006 (that's 9/8 on this weekly chart of the).

There are two way of understanding " The Bear trap of the Century"

1.It's going to last for a century
2. It's the largest one of century.

Evidently you choose the first one. Or got caught up in your own semantic (bulltrap)

The way I see it - it's still the (largest) beartrap of the century.
If you don't agree - point me to a bigger one - of this century.

With regard to your post yesterday
Again, just to make it clear, this is not a bear market. This is a IT downtrend. Once the IT downtrend ends, we should move to ATH on SPX. My LT indicators still look dandy and the my LT objectives have not changed

I don't see you backing up your statement with charts

You saw mine let me see yours!

And here are the trap charts. Looking through them I can still can't interpret them in any other way than I did - perhaps you can - if so, please let me know?

You said "Bear trap of the century" and i intrepreted as such. When you said "Bear trap of the century", i thought it was trap that would not let the bears out this century (as opposed a mere 25% rally). If you are saying otherwise, then the logical question is "How would know a bigger trap is not gonna get set, anytime this century ?".

Who said anything about a bulltrap - are you a lawyer?
Don't put words into my mouth please.

As per your current analysis, if we breakdown here and test the Oct 02 lows (or perhaps below) , then woudn't it be a huge bulltrap i.e a grand fakeout on the DOW ? That's the bulltrap i was referring to. Complete misunderstanding on your part on what i said.

I posted in detail what i expect of this bull run and not a thing has changed since i posted it as far as my LT wavecount is concerned.

http://nav-ta.blogsp...t-thoughts.html

That wavecount is not complete. Secondly we remain in a bull market by my objective definition, based on the indicator i have shown in the charts below. I have shown this chart a few times on my blog. The day this indicator crosses below zero, i will concede my wavecount was wrong and we have enetered a bear market. Until then this is just an intermediate correction, with new highs to come.

Geez, don't be so sensitive. BTW, i don't agree with your analysis. But we are here not agree with each other, but to learn from each other, i suppose. Although, i will tell ya, i have learn't a lot from the way you use the Fib price and time relationships. Fascinating stuff indeed.

NAV, I have said and done so many stupid things in my life that I have had to answer for. I don't want to be remembered for something I didn't say or mean. That's why I got touchy. So let's just agree we don't agree. That's fine with me. best

Stickan,

This is the most comprehensive and compelling analysis I've ever seen posted on TT or anywhere else for that matter.

I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but do you have an opinion on how gold/silver and the mining shares will be impacted by a weak broad market or by the Dec 24th confluence of planets?

Thank you for sharing!!!

Kimston

Thanks for all suggestions.
