'Vitamin bill' sneaked into Wall St Reform legislation?
The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 4173) would expand the powers of the FTC (not the FDA, but the FTC) to "regulate" nutritional supplement companies by greatly expanding the power of the FTC to make its own laws that target dietary supplement companies.
It's needless to say, but the supplement business is in a tizzy!

This article was discussed today by Washington correspondent Jamie Dupree.
After a couple of hours of looking, he could not find supporting language in H.R. 4173.
He did not conclude that such language was not in the bill but rather that such bills are so lengthy and convoluted that often nobody really knows what's really in such bills.
That's too bad for us.
