John Boehner walks away from debt talks.

You don't see this much volume in the After Hour session, particularly on Fridays.

Everyone's talking down the Debt Deal issue. So what could possibly go wrong when "everyone" is in agreement?

Why are the futures /ES unmoved? Did they close trading?

Buyers came back when John Boehner showed up and held the press conference. Now, it's rapidly rising above 134 but with much lower volume. Drama, drama…. Maybe "everyone" is right this time. Nothing's going to go wrong. Have a great evening, guys.

I think futures do not trade over the weekend until Sunday evening.
I do not know this for sure.

It's from 6:00pm to 4:15pm the next day. Then 4:30pm - 5:30pm. And, starts again at 6:00pm except Fridays. No trading on Saturdays.

Perhaps long Swissie, short USD until this blows over, a trade that might well last quite a while.

Hmm… after seeing the "preview" in the AH on Friday, I'd wait and see how the markets, forex and globex, respond first on Sunday.

Very very volatile as this Debt Deal seems to be turning into a "personal" matter. And, with the market had already priced in a done deal, the volatility and uncertainty are all but assured for next week's trading, leading up to Friday's Q2 GDP.

There will be great trading opportunities.
