Chart not attached showing the relative performance of the DFA Small-Cap Fund and SPY. Switching from small-cap to large-cap is most profitable based on the 22-month simple moving average. When price is above the MA, own small-caps; when price is below the MA, own large caps. This is a monthly chart. The data point for August is based on month-to-date performance through August 9th. This chart may soon suggest a shift from small-cap stocks to large-cap stocks will be profitable on a relative basis, that is, small-cap stocks may under perform large-cap stocks. Small-caps have had a good run. Last time I was able to attach a chart. What's the easiest way to post a .jpg or a .pdf?
