The country will not recover until the consumer sees light at the end of the tunnel. Currently it's a long dark tunnel, before that ever happens. Consumers are collectively smarter than the bozos in DC and the boZos on Wallstreet in that regard.

They understand how much debt they have individually.
They understand the deficits and national debt.
They understand what it means when Bernanke continues with QE.
They recognize that what is happening in europe and Japan is not good for us here.
They recognize all the bubbles.

They recognize the greed driving stocks higher. They are wise to not participate and simply ignore it.
