I was a subscriber to Martin Armstrong long before his "troubles". I still use his methods but different to how many see them. While he still has something to contribute, I do doubt his sanity to some degree. He was bashed severely in prison and perhaps that has had an effect. It seems to me lately that he wants to blame everything on socialism. Its fair enough to have a an opinion on politics but he goes to far. For instance he raves about the communistic/socialistic influence on Germany between the wars as a terrible thing. Not to worry, Hitler and fascism cured that ill. Is it proposing that that was a remedy. He never decries that. The fact is most western democracies have a form of socialism. They call it democratic socialism. He would probably pick on Greece as typical of the damage it causes. He won't mention Denmark etc as places doing better than the US. The fact is its about efficient government NOT name calling that makes a difference. IMO CAPITALISM as per the US is on death's door as much as COMMUNISM. The rest of the world has seen that a melding is possible and have done so successfully. Yes, just South Africa and the US don't have a universal health care regime in western democracies. Why is that the US has this rigidity to change. Change is good, change is necessary. If you don't change you whither and die. Yeh, I remember the good old days when an icecream was 5 cents and we didn't lock our doors etc. But dreaming of the past just leaves you lingering while the world passes you by.
