Diabetes rates skyrocket in kids and teens...

"When I was your age," grandpa opined, "I rode my bicycle for hours at a time."
Cartoons, Sky King and Flicka were only on Saturday morning. Lassie and Ed Sullivan on Sunday.
We boy scouts hiked 10 miles a day for a 50 mile total hike through the Kaimachi Mountains during Christmas break.
Easter break saw us canoeing Buffalo River and camping on the riverbank to start anew the next morning.
Summertime found us at Tenkiller lake scuba diving.
We played catch, tag, football, volleyball, 4 square and anything else which made us sweat.
We never heard of Diabetes.

Now kids wear protective helmets, Tweet in the dark and go to bed with their phones beeping all night long, destroying healthful sleep patterns.
Lack of sunshine sees their cholesterol skyrocket.
But they are connected. Virtually, anyway.

We don't know what we were exposed to in the US as EPA shut down all its monitors after 3/11
