per optionsxpress equity team: Puts on the SPDR 500 Trust (SPY) are busy Tuesday
The ETF, which is designed to track the performance of the S&P 500 Index, is down 43 cents to $195.45 per share and more than 1 million puts traded on the ETF so far.
Like Monday, Weekly (6/27) 195 puts are the most actives in the SPYders. 44,475 contracts were opened Monday and another 76,444 changed hands Tuesday.
The contract expires at the end of this week and it appears that some investors are taking positions on concerns SPY will fall below $195 per share before the weekend.
The cautious sentiment is possibly related to upcoming economic data, as a report on Gross Domestic Product is due out Wednesday morning
