While America is preoccupied with the Middle East, evidence accumulates that China is actively preparing for the launch of a war with Japan.

Defenders of the status quo are always stronger than reformers seeking change,
UNTIL the status quo self-destructs from its own corruption, and the reformers are free to build on its ashes.

China's Plan to Lead the Globe
China wants its place in the sun, using the same words as German strategists did before World War I. It’s time for a multi-polar world. The age of American world empire is over.
Britain and Germany fought two world wars even though they were major trading partners. History is replete with examples of rising powers eventually going to war with the status quo powers resisting their rival’s economic and military growth. The Franco-British-Russian alliance against Germany prior to World War I is a perfect example.

Global Elites Turning Sour on China
The American effort to “integrate” China into the liberal international order has now generated new threats to U.S. primacy in Asia—and could eventually result in a consequential challenge to American power globally
Washington needs a new grand strategy toward China that centers on balancing the rise of Chinese power rather than continuing to assist its ascendancy.
