We are "getting there" but, imho, always wait for confirmation.
Whipsaw is painful, but not nearly as painful as being caught on the wrong side of the market for an extended period.

it is "not clear" when the Fed will explain this and other measures such as what indicators it will use to determine when it should unwind its balance sheet.

"The Fed should not only be able to answer these questions, it should be held accountable for its actions," Representative Richard Shelby said.

The “Exit Strategy”: Normalization of Monetary Policy After QE

The most straightforward way to return to normal monetary policy would be to remove those excess reserves by shrinking the balance sheet through asset sales. In its normalization statement, the Fed ruled out MBS sales and indicated that it does not intend to sell Treasury securities in the near term. Instead, it eventually plans gradual reductions in the balance sheet by ceasing to roll over securities as they mature. However, the Fed plans to continue rolling over maturing securities until after it has raised the federal funds rate, which is expected sometime in 2015. The Fed intends to ultimately reduce the balance sheet until it holds “no more securities than necessary to implement monetary policy efficiently,” which Fed Chair Janet Yellen stated might not occur until the end of the decade.
