Bank failure seems to be a remote but very concerning possibility. What do you guys think about buying U.S. treasury bonds directly from the government using treasurydirect.gov as an option for placing money outside of banks?

used to do that - it is a very convenient process - but you wont be able to usse it as collateral for margin etc
