all the merger talks point to the fact that its cheaper to buy assets  than to mine for them.  this will not  be lost on big money.miners are undervalued and unappreciated if the gold price can show some signs of life above 1380 it will be game on   being patient here.i do have turns next week we need another wave up

dharma,

Gold is lagging, and as you mention dharma, it needs to move much higher.  Every mining stock I own was down today.  So I went and bought a starter position in RING.  Of course it was down on the day as well cry2.gif  I remain fully long in my mining portfolio and intend  to remain so for the next couple of months or so.  Meanwhile I sit on my hands and watch for what I see as another buying opportunity.

Metals option expiry is probably affecting the prices right now.

down to the 200-day MA would be ideal, IMHO

AChartist (Tim) predicted on this board the high for gold in the 3rd week of Feb. and then was looking for a low ideally in mid March (6 weeks from late January) with the possibility of it going down for 9 weeks into early April but he preferred mid March. Then a big high into late summer.

i think we have to look at the possibility the whole rally since mid nov was a wave 4

look at the hui that does not look like an impulse wave

we could very well be in a wave 5 down fwiw
