Is the NT downside for gold almost over? Probably. So have the commercials covered much of their short position? The charts below suggest they have, but the COT (dated Jan. 11th) is less clear.

Still very short silver.

You know, for such a volatile sector, I am surprised there is not more interest shown here on this board. Long and short, the volatility is great if you are trying to trade it up and down. I can show charts that show this versus many other indices.

Ah, here you see it better here. Commercials did liquidate shorts in a big way.

This may be an interesting way to play the tops/bottoms. A regression channel for the COT? Found these charts over at Investor's Hub (posted by lvlamb).
