Remember, "Partially Long (or Short)" means less than your normal full position. E.g., If you typically use leverage, then 100% long would be "Partially Long".

The message board sentiment poll now shows Bulls at 43% vs. 33% and Bears at 48% vs. 59%. These pollees tend to be right more often than not, so this is Bearish, but note the swift shift. I think that the earlier surprisingly aggressive readings are more valid. Use care picking a top in here. The Actual Position Poll now shows 54% vs. 35% at least partially long, and 31% vs. 48% at least partially short. There are now 14.75% vs. 21.74% fully short Bears. We're now below my 20% fully short threshold, but this is again a late and large shift. These readings were showing incredible Bearishness as late as Sunday and yet suddenly we get this huge Bullish shift on the holiday. I suspect that we're getting an abnormally Bullish influx of visitors late on the weekend. In any case, since participation is way up, we ought to view the data as unreliable and go with the earlier readings, which were Bullish for today and perhaps Wednesday.
