Comparing to other similar situations:
1) Market arguably completing a 4 year cycle top, with divergent volume and indices
2) a "sign of strength" type of move marking a change in trend (high volume and range day), accompanied by notably poor breadth with several huge disproportionately breadth days
3) we're only 6 days into a short-term downtrend
4) overseas markets show a one day pop -- not a sign of strength, mind you, but a recovery of the prior day decline
Now, against that backdrop, the odds that this is more than a single day bounce is low, imho
If we flush things down another 3-4 % on the nasdaq I think we'll have a tradable bounce, but this probably isn't it.
Odds of bounce lasting more than 1 day?
