REMINDER: 11 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:

888-382-1222

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time.

It blocks your number for (5) years.

You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked.

You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS OR GO

I've got free incoming. :o Yanno, I feel sorry for telemarketers. I've always felt that one has a 1st amendment right to call someone and try to sell them something (at least until they tell you to pound sand and not call back). Commercial speech is still speech, the whining of rent seekers notwithstanding, though harassment is never protected speech. With a cell, however, most folks DO pay for that and I think that clearly falls under the realm improper abuse. Like spam or junk faxes. What I'm really curious about is collection agents. Will they be able to call cell phones irrespective of the registry? Will they have to stop if you tell them to? Interesting times... M Mark

At our house the telemarketers were always told that they had only reached the baby sitter, or else they were told to "hang on" and then let the phone lie there for awhile. Life finally got better when the answering machine monitored all incoming calls. Once we really put that into good use we stopped talking to everybody! It made life much more peaceful. But cell phones? That really bites. mm

You know, I used to be a stock broker and I made my share of cold and tepid calls. You'd be amazed at how people responded when asked if I might call them at a later time and apologized for bothering in them in the first place. Still sucked, but at least I didn't start out honking folks off and acting like I didn't care. What I hate is the barely literates reading off script about something they know nothing about. M
