The and NeoTicker and ErlangerQuote and TradeStation and I beleive AIQ softwares have the capability to create and plot a composite symbol. One could also do it in Excel. F&D

Thanks for the info. Maybe I should have been more specific. Actually what I am looking for is a web site, like stockcharts.com where I can log in and check my custom indices without needing anything else ... from anywhere, anytime.

I get it. That would be a nice convenience. There is still a way in case there is no such website: you could cereate your own as mentioned above and have one of your computers run on XP PRO or Vista Pro and then you could log on to your computer from any other computer (even handheld) that has web access. XD

You'd have to open a account and pay their annual fees......FolioFN allows you to set up a basket of stocks which can be backtested and plotted on a chart like a "composite" index.

Sample output....here's a synthetic SPY using a basket of ETFs, optimized for volatility/returns and correlations vs. SPY with weightings below. Wonder if the recent widening of the spread has anything to do with the recent selloff ;)

"Synthetic SPY"

DIA 25%
IJR 12%
IWV 3%
IVV 11%
IWR 3%
IWO 27%
IVW 4%
MDY 15%

F&D,
That is little too high-tech for me. But thanks very much for the suggestion.

Yes this seems like what I want. It would be perfect if they have the tools to draw TLs and do TA on the chart but even they don't , this is enough for me. I am checking their web site now. Thanks so much.

Daily would be fine. It is the 5 year chart, or maximum 10 year I am interested in.

Yes it is, like a trading floor I can interact almost realtime...There are large number of traders here that trade for a living and most of them has been around for years.
